jamesclose.jpgnothing to declare is the dedicated travel blog of James Benedict Brown. It’s a special place where he shares his tips, tricks and travelogues from the road.

James has been online for almost fifteen years now, and has been involved in numerous web projects, including some ground-up web design. From 2002-2003 he was first the arts editor and then overal editor of Stainless, the magazine supplement of the University of Sheffield student newspaper The Steel Press. Having travelled extensively in Europe and North America, he is currently back in Sheffield completing a masters degree in architecture.

James’ first blog ontheroad has entered its second year, and was joined in 2006 by ontherails, a live travelogue-blog that attracted some three thousand hits during a month long train trip around Canada and the United States of America. Nothing to Declare was created in 2006 as a new venture to combine travelogues with tips and advice from James’ travels.

James is an active member of the Hospitality Club, an online community of travellers who exchange free accomodation and welcome visitors in each others’ cities, and is a regular contributor to Wikitravel, the publicly editable world travel guide.
